Coron weather and Seasons

When is the best time?

Weather, season, and budget are the three key factors to consider when addressing such a brief yet intricate question.

Is the weather important?

It’s not just about deciding whether to head to the beach or a bar, but also about knowing, for example, if your island-hopping tour will happen on time or face delays.

How the prices move?

Airlines and hotels are well aware of travel patterns and adjust their prices based on the seasons. This leads to significant differences in flight and accommodation rates.

What’s the difference between one month and another?

For many, a trip to Coron is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience a tropical paradise. However, like any journey far from home, there are factors to consider. The weather, season, and budget will all play a role in shaping the trip.

In Coron, February’s good weather attracts more visitors, making it the high season with higher prices for flights and accommodations. On the other hand, September is often cloudy and rainy, leaving hotels nearly empty and flights with many available seats, prompting airlines and hotels to offer promotions to attract visitors. These factors combined make February and September two completely different months.

The high season runs from December to April, while the low season spans from June to October, with May and November serving as mid-season months.
High Season: Most days are sunny and warm, attracting plenty of visitors. Airline tickets tend to be more expensive, and hotels quickly run out of availability.
Low Season: Most days are cloudy, with a higher chance of rain during the visit. There are fewer visitors, making it more relaxing to explore certain spots. Airlines and hotels often offer cheaper fares and occasional promotions.

It’s not the best, but it’s definitely not the worst either. August stands out as the best month among the low season months. Many travelers from the Northern Hemisphere take their vacations in August, making it a popular time to visit the Philippines. Plus, airline tickets and hotel prices are far from steep. The weather can be unpredictable, with both rain and sunshine, it’s a bit of a lottery.

There are three occasions when the island gets crowded with visitors: Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Easter. During these times, it becomes challenging to find available tickets or even hotel rooms in expensive resorts.

Booking airline tickets and hotel rooms in advance or during a sale promo can make a trip to Coron more affordable, even during the high season. Keep an eye on offers from major airlines flying to Busuanga Airport and check booking platforms like Booking.com or Expedia. However, be aware that the cheaper fares often come with strict cancellation policies.
