Starting with nearby attractions like the Public Market or Mount Tapyas is a great idea. If you’re staying in Coron Town, you can easily explore them on foot.
For something a bit further, check out Maquinit Hot Springs or Cabo Beach. You can take a tricycle, but honestly, the round-trip fare almost equals the cost of renting a motorbike for the day.
If you’re aiming for the ultimate adventure, the Busuanga West Coast Road Trip is a must. It boasts waterfalls, airplane wrecks, kayaking through mangroves, tropical paradise islands, firefly spotting, the Calauit Safari Park, and so much more.
PUBLIC MARKET
The Public Market is located in the Reclamation Area of Coron town near the sea, it is very convenient for those planning a private island hopping tour. It’s perfect for picking up supplies like fish or chicken for a barbecue on the island, or tropical fruits and vegetables to keep you refreshed on a warm day.
MOUNT TAPYAS
Mount Tapyas, near Coron town, offers a breathtaking view of Coron Harbor and Coron Island. It’s a wonderful place to visit, but be prepared for the climb of the 721 steps to the top. Try to avoid visiting during the hottest part of the day, as the heat can be intense and there’s limited shade.
MAQUINIT HOTSPRINGS
Maquinit Hot Springs is one of the rare saltwater hot springs in the world and the only one in the Philippines. The saline water is naturally heated by underground volcanic activity and pushed up to the surface. The facility features several pools where you can relax and enjoy the soothing bath. CABO BEACH
Cabo Beach, the closest beach to Coron Town, might not be the most stunning in the Philippines, but its convenient location makes it appealing. It’s an ideal spot for sunbathing or sipping drinks while taking in the breathtaking views of Coron Island. You can get to Cabo Beach by van, tricycle or motorbike. We do recommend to consider renting a Motorbike for your transfers in Coron.
KINGFISHER PARK CORON
Kingfisher Park is a serene retreat for nature lovers and adventure seekers. With its lush mangroves and abundant wildlife, it offers memorable experiences like firefly watching, kayaking through mangroves, birdwatching, and stargazing. Kingfisher Park is approximately a 20-25 minute motorbike ride from Coron Town heading towards Busuanga.

It depends on how tired you feel after the trip and how far you’re willing to go. The Busuanga road trip is an amazing experience with plenty of stops to explore. The other spots mentioned above can easily be visited while you’re in town.

Exploring Coron and its surrounding areas is easy with plenty of options, and renting a motorbike is the most flexible choice. On hot and sunny days, the heat from the water can have a negative effect, sometimes making us feel dizzy for a while. The best time to visit the hot springs is just before sunset, so you can enjoy the experience until it’s time for dinner.
